The following are suggestions or recommendations that Dr. Harry Henshaw has made for using his relaxation music, meditation music, sleep music, positive affirmation and hypnotherapy recordings.

Hypnotherapy:  You will be able to learn how to experience a very deep state of relaxation by listening to and working with the hypnotherapy recordings of In The Moment and My Special Place.

FOR SLEEP

Sleep Music:  Sleep Music will help you to relax and sleep better.  The two recordings that I suggest you listen to every evening is Gentle Dreams and Insomnia.

Relaxation is Key to Transforming Your Life

As we attempt to change our lives we should keep in mind that being able to be relaxed and balanced at times is so important to the change process that we are wanting to engage in.  Being able to relax is key to being able to successfully transform our lives.  Being able to be relaxed and balanced allows us to stay at the top of our game when our life and happiness is at stake.

Many times we are so eager to change our lives that we lose sight of many of the important things in our life.  Wanting to change so badly we sometimes get caught up in the process, almost as if it carries us away without us even knowing it, only to end up somewhere where we did not want to be.  The process of change, of transforming our lives, can be very exciting and generate a great deal of energy.  While such energy can be healthy and productive, we have to be able to disconnect from that energy at some point during the process and regain our balance.

This balance can be obtained through the practice of relaxation and meditation.  It is also my believe that music can play a vital role in this process, in helping a person to regain his balance and sense of relaxation.  The relaxation music that I create can, in my opinion, help to restore the balance back to an individual’s life.  When used repeatedly the relaxation music can be a very healthy component of a person’s life, of helping him or her to experience a deep state of relaxation and ease, even helping to limit the negative consequences of the stress that we have a tendency to experience.

A Simple Meditative Technique that will Ground You.

Meditation does not have to be difficult or complicated.  It can be simple and effective too.  Many times the people who teach meditation to help with reducing stress teach techniques that are difficult to learn and take time to learn.  Sometimes the teaching requires the teacher to help the person learn over an extended period of time.  While there is nothing wrong with this type of approach, meditation does not have to be complicated.  It can be simple and effective.  The following technique is simple and very effective.

1.  Find a chair where you can be comfortable.

2.  To the best of your ability make sure that you will not be interrupted.

3.  As you sit in the chair merely allow your body to begin to relax.  As you feel comfortable, let your eyes close slowly and naturally.  As your eyes close let your body relax even more.

4.  As you are beginning to slowly relax your body, let your awareness and attention to your butt.  Feel  your butt sitting in the chair, feel your butt against the seat of the chair.  And stay with this feeling for a moment.

5.  Now feel your back, feel your back resting against the back of the chair.  And stay with this feeling for a moment.

6.  Feel your arms, perhaps as they are resting in your lap or on the arms of the chair.  And stay with this feeling for a moment.

7.  Now feel your feet, feel your feet resting against the floor, feel the soles of your feel touching the floor.  And stay with this feeling.

8.  Now feel your entire body resting in the chair, feel your butt, your back, your arms and your feet, feel your entire body relaxing in the chair.  And stay with this feeling for a moment.

9.  As you are feeling your entire body relaxing in the chair, just let yourself move deeper into relaxation.  Move your awareness to your entire body as you move even deeper into relaxation.

10.  When you feel ready, allow yourself to come back, to come back to the present.  Open your eyes and go about your day.

To make this experience even more powerful you could use therapeutic relaxation music.  The music will help you to relax even more.

Comments about the Power of Intention.

I am currently reading a book by Wayne Dyer, The Power of Intention.  This is a very powerful book.  Its application to all human beings interested in transforming their lives is very direct, including those in recovery.  All of our problems are the result of us being “disconnected” from our source, from intention or God.

While I believe that positive affirmation can help to transform a person’s life, to help them feel better, ultimately this transformation has to led to reestablishing that union that Dr Dyer talks about.  Without the connection we live our life from ego, and with this comes the problems and struggles of life.  It appears that meditation is part of this process for reconnecting.

The two modalities are important, positive affirmations and meditation.  Ester and Jerry Hicks wrote about the power of affirmations and meditation for transforming a person’s life and way of being.  When these two modalities are put together the therapeutic result can be very powerful.

Music has long been recognized as being very powerful for altering a person’s feelings and emotions.  Therapeutic relaxation music can also be used to enhance and deepen the practice of meditation.  For those in recovery or anyone who wants to practice meditation, therapeutic relaxation music can help with an individual’s practice of making contact, contact perhaps with God, with spirit, with our source.  Making contact through meditation can make the difference in ones transformation.

Chapter Two – Be Clear Why You’re Here

According to Canfield, we are born with a purpose. Knowing, acknowledging and honoring this purpose is very important to us as human beings, especially to becoming a success in life. What am I here to do? What is my life about, what is my purpose? What is my purpose for living?

Without a purpose life will be without direction. I will simply wander and drift about in life, not fully living, achieving little if anything of any true value or meaning. I will limit my possibility.

I need to decide upon, if not discover, my purpose in life and once gotten organize all of my activities to be in alignment with it. Everything that I do, according to Canfield, should be an expression of my life purpose.

My inner guidance system helps me in the process of living into my purpose. My inner guidance lets me know when I am on purpose by the amount of joy that I experience. According to Canfield, the things in life that bring me joy are in definitely in alignment with my purpose.

Once you discover your purpose in life read it and practice becoming present to it each morning. Becoming present to ones life purpose in the morning allows one the opportunity to bring into the day and stay focused on fulfilling ones purpose. Being present to my life purpose allows me to determine if my actions and behaviors are in alignment with my purpose.

One way to assist you in discovering your life purpose is through the process of meditation, quiet reflection. Such a process allows you the opportunity to truly uncover that which is your driving force for life, your life purpose.

My purpose is to be of service to other individuals. My purpose is to assist others in transforming their lives by altering the view that they have of themselves and life.
