The Use of Therapeutic Music in Counseling
I have used therapeutic relaxation music for several years in both individual and group counseling sessions. I have found that if the right music is used the client will do better work in the session regardless of whether it is individually or in a group setting. The use of therapeutic relaxaton music allows the client to relax and thereby be able to share more about what is going on with him or her. If a therapist were to incorporate hypnotic work in his or her session the presence of therapeutic relaxation music would make the transition very smooth and very natural.
